  8. NewsMerge is a utility designed to merge multiple news files, discarding
  9. any duplicated articles (identified using the article-id)
  10.

  12. In Use
  13. ------

  15. To use this software, simply double click it's icon. A small window will
  16. appear showing three icons. Drag one or more news files to this window
  17. to add them to the list of files to merge; the last file dragged in will
  18. be shown in the first icon.

  20. To reset the list (to none) click the reset icon; you can then start
  21. dragging the files in once more.
  22.  
  23. To actually merge the list, click the merge icon. The resultant news
  24. file will appear in the same directory as !NewsMerge; a text file with
  25. the name @News'

  27. After merging - which may take a while - the list is reset.

  29. The format of the news files is as used by the Voyager (!NNTPFetch/
  30. !NewsAgent) system - that is, the start of each article is identified
  31. with '#! rnews' on a newline.

  34. Requirements
  35. ------------

  37. NewsMerge is written with Clares WimpBasic, and as such will require
  38. !WBModules, which should be linked to from the Soft Rock Software web
  39. site. (www.argonet.co.uk/softrock)

  41. You will also require the SRSLibrary relocatable module; this should
  42. have been supplied in the same archive as NewsMerge. This module needs
  43. to be placed in your !System.Modules directory. The latest version of
  44. SRSLibrary should always be available to download from the Soft Rock
  45. Software web site.
